Cuil… Sort of Cool
July 28th, 2008 by JonathanDesigned by Google wiz Anna Patterson, Cuil.com started taking search requests this morning. It’s painfully slow still, but I LOVE the layout of results. All those 9 years ago when I made my first Google search, I was drawn to the simplicity and sense of an “alternative” to the clutter of Yahoo and Altavista. Cuil seems to rekindle a lot of those same feelings.

I hate it. My first search (rich brooks, duh) brings up articles on me and the football coach, which is fine. However, photos from our Web site of me end up next to his wikipedia article, and stuff on me has photos of him. Then there’s a link to a press conference by him w/an icon from the flyte Web site. It’s not beta, it’s alpha.
