Santogold
Friday, September 26th, 2008 by RyanI’m a bit late to the Santogold party but this is my new favorite album. Her sound is like a beautiful blend of M.I.A., The Yeah, Yeah, Yeah’s and Missing Persons. Enjoy!

Monday, July 14th, 2008 by AndyMonday levity. I fist saw these guys on the back of the seat in front of me on my last trans-Atlantic trip. They are Kiwi’s (New Zealanders) and popular back home and have a spot here on HBO. Billed a s a “two man, digi-folk band”. Pritty funny stuff, espicially if you’ve ever mit any Kiwi’s.

Musical Shenanigans

If you haven’t seen Juno yet I highly recommend it. Not only is it a great movie, it has a near perfect soundtrack. An amazing collection of songs that seem like they were written just for the movie. The soundtrack contains an eclectic blend of songs from a wide variety of artists such as The Moldy Peaches, Cat Power, Sonic Youth, Barry Louis Polisar, Kimya Dawson, The Kinks, Buddy Holly, Belle & Sebastian and The Velvet Underground. A few of the standout tracks include Barry Louis Polisar’s “All I Want Is You”, Sonic Youth’s amazing cover of the Carpenters “Superstar”, The Moldy Peaches “Anyone Else But You” and my children’s favorite “Tree Hugger” by Kimya Dawson. Enjoy. (flyte crew: it’s on my iTunes)
Scotch Mist
Thursday, March 27th, 2008 by JonathanFollowing the untraditional release of their latest record IN RAINBOWS, Radiohead released a live studio film of the entire album under the title ‘Scotch Mist’ onto YouTube. If you haven’t had a chance, check it out. It makes a great background music, and is arguably just as good as the album itself.
